• I am a big proponent of the Convention of States and have dealt quite a bit with the subject in a previous blog. The Convention of States is a method allowed by the US Constitution for the STATES to bring about a Convention where they can suggest Constitutional Amendments which will then be send back to the state legislatures for final ratification.


For instance, we desperately need a Balanced Budget Amendment to make our federal government fiscally responsible.

Energy Victory by Robert Zubrin is a book I have read four times now and I find its logic flawless. Zubrin suggests a simple solution to a recurring problem. The recurring problem is high gas prices and how we find ourselves over and over enslaved to OPEC or to bad federal energy policies.


Zubin suggest that we have a chicken-and-egg problem. We have high gas prices because we are overly dependent on oil. We do not have alternative fuels. But we do not have alternative fuels because because we do not have vehicle engines that take alternative fuels. The answer is to require all gasoline engines to also be flex-fueled.


How costly is that? At the time that the book was written Zubrin's estimate to make all new vehicles flex-fueled was $30-$250 per new vehicle. All it requires is the rubber tubing to be altered to accept a wider variety of acidity and an oxygen sensor to be programmed and placed in the engine.


Does it require new technology? No. The technology was perfected in the 1980s.


And, just like that, we would have a situation like what we saw in the movie Field of Dreams.

"Build it, and it will come." We can create a condition in Michigan where we will never again have expensive fuel for our vehicles.


Of course, if you prefer being controlled by billionaires that hate us, we can always keep the status quo. (Wow, was that sarcastic. But there really is an alternative. We don't have to continue to live like this.)


I have personally written a book that increases creativity by carefully examining its different aspects. I am openly Christian and will tell you that I gleaned the wisdom for the book from the Bible's description of God creating the universe.

I also suggest that there are 25 "building blocks" to creativity or to solving that problem that doesn't want to be solved.
