•• Our nation's founders believed that there were universal principles that brought about good government. They sought to discover these "ancient principles" by vigorously studying different country's history and also by studying the Bible. ••
Original View of State and Federal Government

"I believe the States can best govern our home concerns, and the General (federal) Government our foreign ones.. "
~ Thomas Jefferson to William Johnson, 1823.
“With respect to our state and federal governments, I do not think their relations correctly understood by foreigners. They generally suppose the former subordinate to the latter. but this is not the case. They are co-ordinate departments of one simple, and integral whole. To the State governments are reserved all legislation and administration in affairs which concern their own citizens only, and to the Federal government is given whatever concerns foreigners, or the citizens of other states; these functions alone being made federal. The one is the domestic, the other the foreign branch of the same government; neither having control over the other, but within it’s own department. There are one or two exceptions only to this partition of power.”
~ Thomas Jefferson to John Cartwright, 1824.

• The story of the hour is that Joe Biden, in his debate with Donald Trump, embarrassed himself. He seems almost certainly to have latter stage dementia and it can no longer be hidden even from his fans, much less the public. Now many Democrats are calling for his resignation for the sake of the Party. Biden has declared that he will not quit.

The problem is that his VP Kamala Harris is even less popular than Biden. There is also the issue as to whether Kamala Harris is natural born, as required by the Constitution. Harris was born in the United States, but not of US citizens. So, it is unlike the disputed natural born case of Barak Obama because at least one of Obama's parents was a US citizen. Between now and the Democratic Convention in August a new slate of President and VP will have to be proposed and adopted. This has never been done before and no one even knows how to do it or what might happen.

Another outrageous claim made by one of the hosts of CNNs debate was that food prices had only gone up 20% in the last four years. See below for more accurate food price info

• I am almost certain the Dems are not in panic mode right now abut Joe Biden. This has been well thought out in advance. I think this is the first time a Presidential debate has been held in advance of the Democratic and Republican Conventions. That was for a reason. Get your popcorn and watch the show! It'll be epic!

• This story is developing. But if Biden is replaced on the Democratic ticket, one of the options for a new candidate is Michigan's own Governor Whitmer. Whitmer has notified the Biden administration that if Biden is the nominee, Michigan is "no longer winnable."
• Concerning the Chevron doctrine, SCOTUS tells us that bureaucrats do not have the power of making law.
Well done, SCOTUS.
Thank you.

• In another SCOTUS decision, Trump was found to be immune from prosecution for actions done while he was President. That means that ALL Presidents are immune from prosecution during and after their administrations.
That sounds a little scary, but I am supposing that it does not exempt a President from an actual impeachment if the US House and the US Senate agree on wrong doing during a President's administration.
"House Bill 4718 will now head to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who is expected to sign it."
My personal opinion is that gays are legally protected and monogamous heterosexuals have a rough road to travel in our society.

• The 2020 Covid crisis brought about several changes in voting methods Most of these changes brought inaccuracies in the voting results.
That's a euphemism for voter fraud.
Will it happen again?
I heard once that when we see a society-wide problem we should concentrate more on the proposed solution, because the problem may have actually been created to implement the solution.

• Was Biden of diminished mental capacity when he said this in 2020, and he was just saying that the Democrats has studied the subject?
It's hard to find a context in which this would be harmless chatter.
It's an odd thing to say, odd phrasing.

• Many people are worried that if Trump the felon is elected that it will introduce corruption to our government.
I just feel that prosecution and persecution are two different things. And...what is corrupt sometimes appears to be legitimate and what appears legitimate is sometimes corrupt.
